What I saw touched me deeply: 130 people crowding in the centre
of the room, making a dramatic statement that their heart was right
there in Bonnyrigg – in the centre of this disadvantaged community
slated for community renewal. They showed physically that they
wanted to live and stay there. Here were these people – many of
them refugees – physically striding across the room and stamping
their mark on the territory that represented where their heart was
and where they wanted to stay. That’s embodied work.
