The second experiment was the last experiment of the semester. Students were given two 3-h lab periods to complete it. The second period was available for students to re-do the experiment if their plot did not exhibit linearity with r2 ≥ 0.95. Approximately 15% of student pairs re-ran their assay. Also, the second week was used for in-class discussion facilitated by teaching assistants (TAs) regarding student results, comparison across berries, and comparisons with results from the first experiment (see Supporting Information).
