The temporal distribution observed in the present research correlates with previous studies, indicating higher densities of V.
parahaemolyticus during warmer months.
Its abundance and distribution has been linked,
most notably to temperature and salinity,
depending on the pathogen, its habitat, and the geographical location.
Dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll and plankton have also been found to be important in the ecology of vibrios.
