Ibrahim et al. (2012) evaluated crude protein, crude fiber, and other extractable fat by proximate analysis and reported that, while nutritive value of each maize–legume mixture increased as legume seed proportion increased, the maize–sesbania mix-tures had greater nutritive value than maize–cluster bean and maize–cowpea mixtures at each seed ratio. Consequently, the ben-efits of mixing maize and sesbania grown annually for forage extend to both DM yield and nutritive value.
