studies explored the nutrition knowledge and practices of midwives. Of those studies that have been undertaken to explore the
knowledge, attitudes, education and communications skills of
midwives regarding nutrition in pregnancy

were descriptive and exploratory. Summary details of the studies
are presented in Table 1. Governmental documents included in this
