Poseidon enables scientists and engineers to image materials and biological samples in a self-contained and fully hydrated flowing and mixing chamber, directly within the TEM. Samples and processes that previously required drying, fixing or freezing, or that could not be imaged at all in their native operating environment, can now be studied and observed in liquid and at high resolutions. Dynamic events at the nanoscale such as bio-mineralization can be recorded in real-time. From hydrated materials such as inks and gels, to biological materials including macromolecules, viruses, and whole cells, Poseidon allows you to quickly and easily load samples into a sealed environment and image within the TEM. Poseidon's 2-port system can be used to flow a sample or a fluid through the chamber, while its 3-port system can be used to introduce additional chemistries for mixing. Researchers can dynamically modify the sample’s liquid environment through the selection of various E-chips. The result is a unique laboratory to realize multiple sample environments and image mixing processes in real time.
