The genus Cercospora is one of the largest genera of hyphomacetes.

The results suggested that our isolate represents an undescribed taxon and warrants the establishment of a new spececies, Cercospora tezpurensis sp.nov.


Traditionally,the species of cercosporoid fungi have been identified based on various morphological characteristics such as caespituli(fruiting bodies), conidiosphores.conidiogenous calls and conidiogenesis, pigmentation of conidia and conidiophores. However,there is often a significant overlap in these characteristics, further complicating the taxonomy of the genus.
