The Beast of Bray Road, Wisconsin’s Werewolf is another interesting case which is much like the Dog-Faced Bigfoot. The local news media called it a werewolf because of its size and it walking uprightly as a biped. However, no one has ever reported witnessing a change or shape shifting from a man to werewolf or vice versa. It has been reported to be a large creature the size of a big bear weighing anywhere from four to seven hundred pounds. Many report the creature looks much like Bigfoot and stands seven to eight feet tall. The fur is a brown-grey and is said to resemble the fur of a dog or bear. Further descriptions from witnesses state the face is much like a German Shepard with pointed ears and the hands consist of three long claws that it uses as it eats “road kill”. The eyes are said to glow yellow when the beast is seen in the headlights of a car.
Bray Road can be found near the small town of Elkhorn, Wisconsin. It is a quiet country road which was the location of several sightings in the late 1980s into the early 1900s. These sightings motivated the Walworth County Week to sponsor an investigation by reporter Linda Godfrey who was not convinced such a creature could exist. She soon changed her mind while interviewing the witnesses. Later she published her book titled “The Beast of Bray Road: Wisconsin’s Werewolf”.
Many cryptozoologists point out the similar characteristics of the Beast of Bray road to the Bluff Monster sometimes called Eddy. Others refer to the beast as being a Bear-wolf or the indigenous Dogman. Since these creatures are seen in the same state, it is likely that they are one and the same, but there are no know photos of the creature. The Dogman of Michigan was first sighted in 1887 by two lumber jacks in Wexford County Michigan. They described it as a man with a dog’s head. Again, this is much like the Dog-Faced Bigfoot that has been reported recently from the Northeast down as far as Georgia.
Of course, there is no scientific proof of the existence of the creature, and there is not much supporting evidence in the way of photos, videos, or footprint castings. However, the sightings continue to surface from very earnest witnesses. This makes me wonder if this could possibly be a unique subspecies of Bigfoot.
