Note that The Boundaryless Organization does not myopically seek to eliminate all boundaries, despite the volume's title. After all, boundaries can be very useful, as in parcelling-out work because of the limited capabilities of human actors with consequences often labelled "satisficing" or "sub-optimizing." Hence, in general, the authors insist that their prime targets are those selected boundaries seen as dysfunctional or mischievous. The authors leave no doubt that the realm of their boundary targets is very broad and significant, even though they have not yet written the chapter that will make plain their template for inclusions/exclusions.
