Curious to know others' thoughts. This title's misleading, throwing the baby out w the bath water, I think. The lesson from this piece: stick to "USP verified" supplements. Thanyapura's preventative health doctor, who is excellent, recommended a personalized assortment of supplements when we were in Thailand. After a few months away from them, I started taking them again a month ago, and the difference (eg. energy level) was pretty amazing. There's something to supplements. Having a knowledgeable specialist give guidance is important too, I think.
