The extent to which students engage in self reflection is an individual preference; feedback was given to students in order for them to better focus their reflection upon the elements to maximise their learning. For some students this was not an easy task: whether as products of different educational systems, they found this an alien and confusing process was at times clear. However, the evidence was that for students who were able to comprehend its importance, their personal and group reflections were very insightful. The extent to which this enabled some to identify with clarity, issues that prevented group’s from becoming more effective, was particularly noteworthy. This was particularly pertinent when there were inter-personal issues within individual groups, which prevented effective group interaction. Where individuals did not confront issues, this meant that there were potential barriers to the achievement of group goals and task completion.
