Segway should focus primarily on commercial and industrial markets, including governmental departments and municipalities.
For example: Suggesting that golf courses replace their older gas and electric power carts with the Segway GT. This would speed up play allowing for more revenue from green fees due to an increase daily course capacity.
It would be prudent for Segway to analyze a variety of jobs in which their product could be employed with the intent of increasing the efficiency of particular tasks. Such studies would provide empirical data for potential customers, proving that cost saving can be achieved through implementing Segway's products. Cost could not only be measured by time savings, but also by the savings of wear and tear on human capital. Meter readers, postal workers, airport staff and the like would be a good start. Municipalities and governmental departments should be contacted directly through proposal meetings.
