When analyzing whether differences exist between the different branches of activity in the food and drinks industry in the two countries under study, a single factor analysis of variance was carried out. The results show the existence of significant differences in the distribution of activities within this industry in these two European countries (F = 2.31, significance level = 0.00). This conclusion is logical, considering that the wine-producing industry, which is predominant in Spain, is absent in Belgium, a country in which one of the most active subsectors within the food industry is the manufacture of sweets and dietary products and in that of the drinks industry, the production of beer. Hence, the differences between the two countries are due to the market served in the two cases.
