5. Conclusions
The daily intakes of total DM, CP and ME increased with the increased level of soya waste, but grass intake decreased. The digestibility coefficient of DM and nutrients increased with the increased level of soya waste. The average daily BW gain tended to be higher with the increased dietary level of soya waste. The BW and reproductive performance of the does fed the soya waste were similar to those of the does fed the pelleted compound feed. However, the BW gain of the pre-weaning kids fed the soya waste was higher than that of the pre-weaning kids fed the pelleted compound feed group. Based on the results of this 14-month long feeding study, high dietary levels of soya waste (up to 2.0% DM of BW) did not have detrimental effects on the feed intake, BW gain or reproductive performance of goats.
