“We are looking to have the terminals of phase three use Automated Stacking Cranes to lift containers on or off of trucks, Automated Guided Vehicles that will transport containers between yards and front ports, and gantry cranes with spreaders that can lift two 20-foot containers simultaneously, which a few terminals at our current phases already use. We are also looking at cold ironing which provides shoreside electrical power to vessels at berth, cutting dependency on diesel-powered generators.
The e-Port project which we have been working on for some time now will also be extended to phase three and will contribute to less paperwork, better communications and better synchronization between Laem Chabang Port, the Customs Department and other related organizations.
