- You can make double turns by letting the AI make their turn, then move your units and then move the same army again at the begin of the next turn before the AI moves. This gives a huge advantage since you can move close to an enemy capital and then next round attack without that the enemy even saw you coming.
- You have the ability to do things as the first in every round and also do readjust some things (like what to build etc.) at the end of the round.
- When you wait until all AIs made their turn, you can be sure that you will not be attacked anymore and do not need to keep mana for unexpected fights and then can cast spells for all casting points. At the beginning of each new turn every player gets all casting points back.
- It is much quicker when the AI is doing the moves at the same time when the human player is making its turn. But this is only true if the map is not too big.
- Negatiation with AIs is much easier. You can send an offer, wait to see if they accept it or not and then readjust (e.g. add 20 gold) and resent it if necessary. This saves so many rounds.
- It combines a little bit of time-pressure from real time strategy games with the round-based strategy games. Since we need to be very quick to be quicker than the AI, we only have two or three things which we can do before the AI normally moves. But we can focus on the main objective we want to achieve in this round and it is good to make sure what our main goals are.
