Pottery was once produced on Seram, and most probably in the Gorom
group to the southeast of that island, as this study has identified indigenous
Seram-Gororn tempers. This supports evidence that this was the case from
the oral traditions of pottery-producing Hutumuri on Ambon-Leitirnor and
Haruku village that they had a shared origin on Seram, just as they share
similar pottery-making techniques (Spriggs 1990: 54). The study has shown
