Paul: I’ll open the branch office on Cesar Ave. next week and now looking for candidates.
David: What are the job openings?
Paul: There are 3 vacant positions; a branch manager, a web designer, and a clerk.
David: Well! Did you make a job classified ad?
Paul: That’s the thing I worried about. I don’t know how to create an effective job classified
ad. Can you give me some suggestions?
David: Look for some sample ads in a newspaper. It’s the easiest way. But there are many
things in the ad to be considered.
Paul: Really? What are they?
David: Beyond the qualifications, the completed ad would consist of details of your
company, job responsibilities, benefits from work, and how to apply for the job. All these are
the structures in an ad.
Paul: Someone says writing a job classified ad like issuing the advertising campaign.
David: That’s right. When comparing with marketing, your job opening is like a product. An
effective sales campaign will motivate customers to buy your products. An effective job
classified ad will motivate the job seekers to apply for a job as well.
Paul: Great! How about using words or phrases in the ad?
David: Using easy words can affect directly to their attentions. It will be very good to use
short sentences.
Paul: Yeah! Anyway here’s my first draft. I like you to have a look.
David: Wow! You did a great job but there are some misspellings and grammatical errors in
the ad. You will also need paraphrasing and add the job duties here.
Paul: Thanks for your suggestions.
