Evolution of the Class
Feedback from my students as well as the project liaisons each year provides the basis
for the lessons I have learned regarding how to create a successful class that melds
service learning and leadership development opportunities. The feedback pertaining to
what students liked the most about the class was consistent across the 8 years and
reinforced aspects of the course design that were critical to keep. In response to the
open-ended question “What did you like most about the class?” the following four
were indicated by the highest percentage of students:
