Average day air-time temperature throughout the whole crop
cycle was about 29 ◦C for both temperature treatments across
the three experiments (Table 1). A greater standard deviation
was observed in the field because of natural variations of tem-
perature. The PAR for the whole crop cycle was 34.6, 28.4 and
26.0 mol m−2 d−1 in the field, GH1 and GH2, respectively (Table 2).
The relative humidity during the day was relatively stable at 77% in
the field, 68% in GH1 and 63% (CT) and 56% (INT) in GH2. The result-
ing vapor pressure deficit (VPD) was 1.0 kPa (field), 1.3 to 1.4 kPa
(GH1) and 1.4 to 1.9 kPa (GH2).
