he exalts the ideal of work and insists that the dignity of man requires that people work and the cycle of dependency be broken. That's all well and good, if you're concerned about the dignity, but what about "the well-being of mankind. The well-being of mankind is served by a massive state that provides everything for everyone. Look at France, where entitlement and dependency are so entrenched, where long amounts of vacation are a guaranteed right. It's not our goal to go back to the 19th Century where people worked "by the sweat of their brow" for everything, but rather where government is the benefactor of us all. We have been joined in this effort by Republicans who have decided to provide prescription drugs for all Seniors. It's a vindication of our philosophy and we must go forward, not backwards.
