The wild tomato (Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiforme) is widely distributed in
Mexico, it is very popular in regional markets and it has the chemical characteristics of a
nutraceutical food (Rodríguez et al., 2009; Juárez-López et al., 2009; Carrillo and Chávez,
2010; Crisanto-Juarez et al., 2010).
