In this study, a limit existed in the research method. Up to now, Taiwan does not have an eco-oriented urban park. This study used the pictures of the Bos Park in order to depict an ecological metropolitan park based on the concept of natural forest succession. Due to landscape pictures of the early stages of the Bos Park not being available, the participants were not able to see the progress of the landscape changes in the park. In addition, they were not able to directly experience the park’s ecosystem as shaped by time. Therefore, they may not have been fully able to comprehend the survey questions. This might have had an impact on their responses to some of the questions. This study attempted to understand people’s attitudes toward the construction of a forest park in Taipei metropolitan area from the users’ perspective. Subsequent studies can examine the park managers’ and landscape architects’ attitudes toward such a metropolitan park. Furthermore, the differences among the users’, the decision makers’, and the landscape designers’ opinions should be studied, with the findings providing the Taiwanese government with insights for the planning and design of urban parks.
