Women who vomit too often or who eat too
little because of nausea risk vitamin deficiency and
malnutrition. Those who are deficient in vitamins
B12 and B6 risk developing anaemia and peripheral
neuropathy (Ismail and Kenny 2007), while those
who lack thiamine, or vitamin B1 risk developing
Wernicke’s encephalopathy (Chiossi et al 2006)
