Free SH content of the actomyosin decreased with increase in concentration of zinc salts. A progressive reduction in free SH groups with increase in concentration of zinc chloride and zinc
sulfate is observed. The free SH content decreased from a value of 122 12 mM/g actomyosin to 80 7 mM/g actomyosin in the presence of 1 103 M zinc sulfate and 75 6 mM/g actomyosin in the presence of 1 103 M zinc chloride, respectively.
