In accordance with information obtained from borehole drilling (i.e. internal deformation of the displaced mass and the striated and slickensided surface of rupture; Krippel and Pospiechová, 1988) the landslide can be characterized as composite earth slide–earth flow (Keefer and Johnson, 1983) with a Dr/Lr ratio of 0.01–0.02 and an H/L
ratio of ~0.14, where Dr is the depth of the surface of rupture, Lr is the length of the surface of rupture, H is the fall height, and L is the horizontal length.
