In january 2012, the Executive Board of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) approved a five-year Programme of Partnership with the Royal Thai Government for the period 2012 to 2016. In April 2011 and June 2012, the United Nations System Agencies and the Royal Thai Government signed an UNPAF and UNPAF Action Plan respectively, covering the same five-year period. The UNPAF and its associated Action Plan outlines the strategies and key results to be achieved, including the contribution of Thailand-UNICEF partnership during this period. The overall planning level for the Royal Thai Government-UNICEF Partnership amounts to US 70 million for the five-year period of which US 4 million is from UNICEF Regular Resources and US 66 million is from Other Resources, subject to availability of funds.
Of this amount, the overall planning level for the result (Intermediate Result); Holistic national child protection system to prevent and address cases of exploitation, violence, neglect and abuse designed and its progressive implementation started; children covered by a holistic child protection system (three essential components in catchment area) increased from 11 per cent in 2012 to 32 per cent by end 2016, amounts to US 6.65 million of which US 1.35 million is from UNICEF Regular Resources and US 5.3 million is from Other Resources, subject to availability of funds.
