Since the learning principles are diverse and drawn from many different game genres, each argument would have to be scrutinized in order to be validated or rejected. This article should not be understood as a complete rejection of the idea that there can be elements in games that could be used in educational practices, but the different principles need to be empirically analysed one at a time. Instead, this article explores the underlying assumption that a player's performance when playing games is an outcome of learning.
