However, LC–tandemquadrupole MS is not suitable for simultaneous screening of alarge number of phthalates. Besides, false positives caused by com-plex food matrices are frequently encountered [23]; no studieswere reported to simultaneously detect over 25 different phtha-lates in food samples. From last year the role of UHPLC-Q-Orbitrapis increasingly built up as enabling tool in food safety analysisfor it can provide detailed structural information. In spite of thepotential value of the application, to the best of our knowledge,so far no people has reported the application of Q-Orbitrap massspectrometry combined with high performance liquid chromatog-raphy for simultaneous determination for a group of phthalates infoods [24].
