Antge (Director of TELI, Tufts University) would like to fly to Thailand and discuss with us.
TELI will be implemented as a joint-short course, Mahidol-Tufts, for regional students. We also plan to include students from MyoHUN, INDOHUN,VOHUN AND near-by counties, either Cambodia, Lao, or Myanmar. We also requested a student from Tufts to attend. This plan can later be developed as a international activity.
Director of TELI (Tufts Environmental Literary Institute), and one from OH workforce team, would come. They also have their action plan. MU President told Dr. Saengduen that he strongly supported this course. He wanted something bigger than that. He suggested that Dr. Pantep to contact with Tuft University to ask them to do a reform of general-education for MU. However, Dr. Parntep said that Dr. Saengduen would be the right person to bridge Tuft and MU.
Dr. Saengduen informed Mahidol University President that TELI has been approved by SEAOHUN Executive Boards and USAID. She contacted with teams from Tufts University to visit our MU President. Director of CELT and Tisch (who run TUSK) and Formal director of Faculty of Medicine, Tufts University; Mary Lee were proposed by OHW-Tufts team for the MU President visit. Tufts TUSK has been used in 15 countries worldwide. USD 15,000 budget has been allocated for THOHUN to install server of TUSK for online course development of THOHUN. Now, Dr. Saengduen is waiting for response from the President before drafting invitation for MU visit by Tufts team.
Dr. Saengduen said she would like to move her activities up to the policy level. Next year she will not have time to look at every report. She will release activities to managers.
She told Dr. Burachai she wants him to be communicator at the country level, and Aj. Irwin would be the regional communicator. Dr. Saengduen would concentrate on working with policy level.
2) For year 1 work plan:- Assign tasks to each manager. What we want to do next? Our roles in the next year.
For Program Manager:
- Sub-awards has problems, some due to management style of UMN
- She wants to force sub-award to be approved as fast as possible
- For year 2 workplan, she wanted it to be submitted on time. She then found miscalculations by Financial Manager on calculation of 10% direct cost.
- Ms. Srivarintr must help Ms. Tanaporn (Finance Manager) on this issue when reviewing future finance figures.
