Murashige and Skoog13 (MS) salts and vitamins supplemented
with 30 g/l sucrose were used as the basal
medium. Mermaid agar (8.2 g/l) was used as a gelling
agent. The pH of all media was adjusted to 5.8
with 1 N NaOH or 1 N HCl prior to autoclaving at
1.05 kg/cm2
