The clothes we wear often reflect a lot about our personality. To begin with, I have to admit that I’m sometimes under the illusion to my talent of judging people only by looking at what they wear. However, I feel a little sad about this. Do you really think that there is anyone who can tell perfectly people’s personality just at a glance? I doubt that there is. Although a majority of people considers that they can hardly tell what other people’s characters are like only from their looks, the outsides of them stamp some people as equally what they are. From my experiences, however, I never could get particular vibes from anyone correctly, only out of his outfit. For instance, I had once met the man whose nature was completely different from my assumption. He was my father’s colleague who played the clarinet and always in very simple, pastel colored polo shirts. I was taking him as a moderate type of person because of his mellowness and inclines to a “pastel” color, while my father always told me that he was a man with a competitive streak. I really didn’t believe what he was telling me, but it turned out that he was right in the end. One day, I saw this man shouting to the conductor when the rehearsal was taken place. I couldn’t find himself anymore, calm, gentle during the rehearsal. At that time, I could hear my heart became thumping strongly because of his sudden change. I was kind of shocked and sad because I was a too kid to be able to know that what he was doing was actually very courageous. It was a very striking scene, and had become something unforgettable. Since that experience, I’m keeping myself not judging people only from what they wear. One clarinet player taught me that people's outfits could blind you to know their actual personality.
