In science a law is statement or equation that concisely describs reproducsible experimental observations. Classical thermodynamics is built on a founation of tree law
,none ofwhice can be derived from principles that are more fundamental. This chapter explains som basic terminology of termodynamics;discusses theoreticalaspects of the firt law ;give example of spontaneous and reversible processes and the work that occures in them; and introduces two extensive state function, enthalpy and heat capacity.
