6. Discussion
H1. The hypothesis that there was no difference in home fire
safety knowledge between SB or WR groups; although, many
outcomes improved over time. This hypothesis was corrobo-
rated previously by the same authors that mode of delivery of
burn prevention education (web-based vs. classroom instruc-
tion) was no different by method but did increase over time
significantly [7,8]. We extended these previous findings by
demonstrating that using a DVD format, a preferred method
by parents, improved outcomes over time. That is, home fire
safety knowledge, behavior and ability increases after receiving
home fire safety education via DVD. As such, DVD home fire
safety education is supported by the results of this analysis
