The Group has adopted various share-based compensation and cash incentive plans to attract, retain and motivate
executives and employees. The plans are designed to reward employees for their contribution to the performance of
the Group and to encourage employee share ownership. Share-based compensation plans include plans under
which shares and options to purchase shares, based on the performance of the businesses, are awarded. Share-based
compensation plans are based on the provision of the Zurich Insurance Group Ltd shares.
