Pineapple is generally produced under a wide rainfall range of 600 mm to more than 3500 mm annually (Robert & Odilo, 2011). Pineapple is intolerant to cool and frost; hence, low temperatures during winter can result in leaf-tip necrosis and fruit injury. The optimal temperature for growing pineapple ranges from 25∘C to 32 ∘C during daytime and 15–20∘C during nighttime (Robert & Odilo, 2011). Pineapple is a low-growing herb with height ranging from 0.5 to 1.5m.
