While the people's attempts to prevent logging is certainly commendable, there are some severe limitations to this approach's effectiveness. It stated in the video that the locals are very careful to have non-violent approach and to abide by laws (i.e. burning chainsaws) to minimize the dangers of confronting loggers and penalties from the government. There also seems to be an immense sense of community among the people since they are united in reaching a common goal. However, their impact is limited because they do not have government support. I assume that these locals don't have any financial assistance and must pay for the gas, acid, and food necessary to go on these excursions to track down loggers. As a result, I would assume that the time and money spent means that their own farms or families suffer. They are severely limited because of their lack of funding and resources so, depending on how widespread the problem is, this approach may be largely ineffective.
