Average total abundance of phytoplankton during spring was
62 104 cells/m3, which was significantly higher than summer
(49 104 cells/m3, p < 0.01). The abundance of diatoms contributed
more than 95% of total phytoplankton abundance during both
seasons. Both total phytoplankton abundance and diatoms abundance
in the NWA were significantly higher than in the SWA in
two seasons (Fig. 3).
