Specific Emotions
We have examined the basic theories of emotions and learned how people express emotions. Now we will illustrate these points by examining some specific emotions. Rather than making comments on an endless list of emotions, we will look at two: fear and love. These two emotions represent extremes on many levels. Fear is considered to be negative, whereas love is viewed as positive, and many of us will go to great lengths to experience this positive emotion. Also, fear has been studied a great deal, whereas love has, until recently, been seen as the domain of only poets and playwrights.
