We don’t want to make this sort of article, but we are forced to talk about something very weird happened this current week, we had a confirmation from Yamaha that the 2016 R6 will be the same….again! Why this sort of policy from Yamaha?
The truth is we don’t have the answer yet, a lot of rider or a lot of Yamaha fan were expecting to see a new R6 in the 2015 EICMA floor, but Yamaha decided to stay out of the light in this category for the moment, is it safe to act so? Especially when rumors are claiming that Triumph will introduce a new 800cc range models in the Milan show, maybe we will discover a new Daytona 800 there, and we all know how good the Daytona 675 R is! If you remember the Triumph Daytona 675 was launched in the same year as the new Yamaha R6, back there the R6 was like an arrow no bike could match the futuristic look of the machine, but the earth is turning, and so the time, and something called electronics aids had submerged the sport bike category, you can turn your 200hp sport bike to a city bike by just pushing a button, and for those who are scared to see all that electronics on their bike, don’t be afraid because you can switch off everything, Yamaha has already experienced a huge success after the latest launch of their new R1, this new R1 has surpassed all the European bike and it is now the bench mark, so why they didn’t do the same with the R6?
We just want to expose our frustration about this announcement, because the 600cc sport bike is dying in the silence, and we really want to see some fresh model in this middleweight sport bike.
