Of the 96 children, 34 (35%) had an enteral
feeding tube, and 58 (60%) had a nasogastric tube
(55% for feeding and 45% for gastric decompression).
All 96 children had the head of the bed elevated
at least 30º and had no clinical evidence of
aspiration during the study period. Only 30 of the
96 children (31%) had a cuffed tracheal tube.
