it a short story about a group of young urban children. After reading The Lesson it is evident that the children live in a very poor area. There teacher makes an attempt to teach them about money, but they do not want anything to do with the lesson. They would rather enjoy the summer day by going swimming. I feel as if it is not necessary for the children at their young age to learn about money. Kasser would agree with this by saying that they should keep their innocence and to avoid at all costs becoming obsessive over money. However, I do believe that at some point it will be important for the children to learn about money. This will allow them to set realistic goals to help them better their living conditions.
