To the best of the authors' knowledge, in this work a review of some available literature on thermal comfort and ventilation studies in Malaysia and the surrounding regions has been brought forward. The results of this review showed that further studies are needed in order to find a balance between enhancement of thermal comfort inside a built environment and desired indoor air quality for occupants, thereby leading to reduction of energy consumption in buildings. Furthermore, the findings obtained from thermal comfort and ventilation studies can be applied to building energy audit in order to increase energy efficiency.
