It is clear that Mrs. Seow wishesto remain competitive in the market and feels that Tangerine Centre Sdn Bhd should upgrade its facilities and services offered. This can only be done by ensuring that the company’s beauty therapists are internationally qualified. This means that the beauty therapists have to have at least a CIDESCO diploma. Currently, the beauty therapists in Tangerine Centre Sdn Bhd only have the local Malaysian Certificate – Malaysia JPK (SKM) Tharp III certificate. As there are current employees in the company, Tony should first do a Job Analysis by outlining a summary of a job’s duties and responsibilities, its relationship to other jobs, the knowledge and skills required, and working conditions under which it is performed. Job Analysis performed on three occasions: (1) when the organization is founded and a job analysis program is initiated for the first time; (2) when new jobs are created; and (3) when jobs are changed significantly as a result of new technologies, methods, procedures, or systems. In this case, Tony may request for the existing employees be trained or sent for courses to obtain the international qualification. As for the new recruits, in order to familiarize them with the current operations of the company, they can be paired up with the seniors of the company to learn about the processes and ropes of their jobs. This is called the buddy system.
