PMMA is strong, has a high wear strength, is easy to repair,
and has good esthetics. However, the material has the following
limitations: allergenicity, color instability, and odor
(Federick, 1975; Gratton and Aquilino, 2004). This study
demonstrated that the heat-polymerized PMMA and the
heat-polymerized PMMA reinforced with polyester fibers samples
had better strength than the cold-polymerized PMMA and
the cold-polymerized PMMA reinforced with polyester fibers
samples. The results showed that the method of polymerization
also affected the strength of the material.
