The BAFTA Film Awards took place at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden last night and MPC walked away with the award for Special Visual Effects for their work on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
Visual Effects Supervisor Greg Butler accepted the award on behalf of the team at MPC, who delivered 325 shots for the final film in the series. Working closely with VFX Supervisor Tim Burke, MPC’s areas of work included the epic final battle between Harry and Voldemort, CG environments and fire effects in The Room of Requirements, the snake Nagini, giant’s face replacements, death eater and stone knight armies, a number of explosive wand effects and 2 Horcrux destructions effects.
MPC would like to congratulate everyone on the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 team and thank all of the artists who have worked on the series over the last 10 years! Receiving this award this a true testament to all the hard work, energy and dedication that every single person brought to Harry’s final adventure.
