The characteristics of individual human behavior are such that they both allow for and are reinforced by interactions among other individuals. This emerges and evolves into a complex state of social interaction and structural coupling4 within the larger human social system. What we see and sense as this occurs in organizations and teams is often displayed and described as corporate culture. What we see at the biophysical level is the structure of the system being displayed. This collective behavior of the components and elements within the system are driven by and maintained through the self-organizing nature of humans. Poiesis in this context is more a matter of producing sets of relationships that ensure the continued functioning of the system of interest.
