GETTING ESTABLISHED
EXPANSION IN SINGAPORE
In 2008, Rolls-Royce began work on its S$700 million Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus. The Campus include the most modern Rolls-Royce manufacturing, assembly and test facility for Trent aero engines, as well as research and training facilities. With almost half of Rolls-Royce’s new orders for aircraft engines coming from airlines in the region, this move firmly entrenches the company’s commitment to Asia.
“Singapore has been a partner of growth for Rolls-Royce. This fantastic facility gives Rolls-Royce additional capacity to deliver our record order book. Importantly, this also marks an important new phase of our relationship with Singapore. The Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus brings together state of the art technologies, advanced manufacturing techniques and highly skilled people to produce some of the most advanced aero engines in the world,” said Jonathan Asherson, Regional Director, Rolls-Royce in Singapore.
Located at the newly developed Seletar Aerospace Park, this campus is a strong vote of confidence to Singapore’s capabilities to be a home for high-value manufacturing and development activities. It also highlights the attractiveness of Seletar Aerospace Park as a cradle for new opportunities in the aerospace sector, where synergies arise from the clustering and integration of activities across the supply chain.
In 2009, Rolls-Royce relocated its global headquarters for its marine business to Singapore, adding to the global head office for its Marine Services operation. The new Marine headquarters has global responsibilities for business development, marketing and corporate services.
