1. Overall chemical management regulations and system
- Current system and the organizations of regulatory authorities for chemical substances regulations, and management systems for chemical substances regulations


- Types of chemical substances regulations relevant to the automobile industry and what they regulate, for examples,
Occupational safety, Emission to water or air, Chemical substances contained in products, and others


- Current issues of current chemical regulations and management, and issues expected to happen in the future

- Chemical substances regulations which you are studying and, you think, will be necessary in the future
Particularly, do you have an intention to make regulations for chemicals in products like REACH of Europe? If you have, regulations of which country do you refer to and by when do you plan to enact?








2. “Recycling of end-of-life vehicles(ELV)” and “chemical substances contained in products”
- Do you have an intent of regulations for recycling of ELV and chemical substances contained in products? If you have the intent, please explain the background of the intent, reasons, and purposes of regulations


- If you have, regulations of which country do you refer to? By when are you planning to put them into force?


- To put these regulations into force, what are current issues and issues expected to happen in the future?


- The department which are responsible for rule-making, and the rule-making processes(from preparation of the draft to its enactment) when you are to establish regulations for ELV and chemical substances contained in products


- Key persons who are engaged in the rule-making

3. Current situation of recycling and environmentally hazardous substances management in the automobile industry including its supply chain
- The size of the automobile industry including its supply chain, i.e. the number of material suppliers, processing companies, and assembling companies


- Systems or organizations within the industry groups or each company to manage chemicals in products? If there are, we want to know the details.


- Measures to comply and cope with regulations like REACH of Europe and issues in light of increasing number of regulated substances.


- Current situation of researches on chemical substances used in the automobile supply chain (Is there any research result? What are issues when you are to research?)


- Use of substances (lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium) prohibited by the EU ELV directive, i.e. lead-containing solder or alloy and choromating of zinc plating, and others.


- Current issues you have to clear if you are to comply with ELV law, particularly, relevant to calculation of recyclability, information transfer of chemical substances contained in products and components, alternative substances/technology for the prohibited substances, and others



- How can we cooperate with you so that you can comply with ELV law?
