The manufacturing cost trend is opposite to that of energy
consumption. Faster machining decreases the total energy consumption
by shortening the process lead time, but the
manufacturing cost increases due to increased tool wear. Operators
must choose the appropriate strategy according to local conditions.
Without considering out-of-machining factors such as delivery
time, the process parameters can be properly selected to reduce the energy consumption or manufacturing cost. The constructed model
reflects the influence of each factor, and environmental weight
factors determined by government policies or regulations could be
applied to the energy consumption values.
